The checker
What it checks
- Whether the string is 56 characters long and drawn from the onion alphabet (letters a to z, digits 2 to 7).
- Whether it matches one of the three strings on this page exactly.
- If it doesn’t match: where the mismatch starts, position counted from the front, prefix and tail both reported.
What it doesn’t check
- It doesn’t know whether anything is online. It holds no status data.
- It doesn’t fetch the string. A match is a match on paper; your circuit decides what opens.
